Culture of Publishing Proactive Disclosures

Inaugural workshop of the pilot project of introducing public institutions of the culture of publishing proactive disclosures has been held on 06th July, 2018 at Hotel

Janaki.

This programme initiated by the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, provides Public Authorities with technical and financial assistance required to publish proactive disclosures in the website in terms of the provisions of the Right to Information Act. Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Science, Technology, and Research, Skills Development and Vocational Education and Kandyan Heritage and the Kotte Municipal Council have been selected for the first project and the purpose of this workshop had been to identify the proactive disclosures of these institutions, to appoint groups to create the database and train them.

Mr. B.K.S. Ravindra, Senior Additional Secretary to the President, Mr. Piyathissa Ranasinghe, Director General of the Right to Information Commission, Mr. Jagath  Liyanarachchi, Director, National Centre for Media, Mr. Shan Wijethunga of the Sri Lanka College of Journalism participated as resource persons while Miss. Sudharma Karunarathna, Assistant Secretary represented the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media and Mrs. Chamindri Saparamadu, Technical Consultant on Right to Information  represented the United Nations Development Programme.
